Privacy Policy

Last updated: 18 June 2026

At BookSharpSharp, we take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly — such as your name, email address, phone number, country, and payment details — when you create an account, purchase tickets, vote in a campaign, or contact us for support. We also automatically collect certain technical data when you use our platform, including your IP address, browser type, device information, and usage patterns, to help us improve the service.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to: • Process ticket purchases and bookings • Record votes and attribute them to your account • Send transactional emails (receipts, event reminders) • Provide customer support • Detect and prevent fraud • Improve our platform and personalise your experience We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

3. Sharing Your Information

We share data only with: • Event organisers and marketplace vendors you transact with (limited to what is necessary to fulfil your order) • Payment processors — Paystack and Flutterwave — who each operate under their own privacy policies. Depending on your payment method, your transaction data may be processed by either or both providers • Legal authorities when required by law All third-party partners are contractually obligated to protect your data.

4. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting privacy@booksharpsharp.com. Certain financial records may be retained for up to 7 years as required by Nigerian law.

5. Cookies

We use session cookies to keep you logged in and preference cookies to remember your settings. We do not use advertising tracking cookies. You can control cookie behaviour through your browser settings, though disabling session cookies will prevent you from logging in.

6. Security

We use industry-standard encryption (TLS 1.3) for all data in transit, and all passwords are hashed using bcrypt. We conduct regular security audits and promptly investigate any suspected breaches. Despite our best efforts, no system is 100% secure — please use a strong, unique password for your BookSharpSharp account.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you have the right to: • Access the personal data we hold about you • Correct inaccurate data • Request deletion of your data • Object to certain processing • Data portability To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@booksharpsharp.com.

8. Children

BookSharpSharp is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has created an account, please contact us immediately.
